Dalton Nicol Reid was today announced as joint inaugural winner, along with Ralton Asset Management, of the Separately Managed Account (“SMA”) category at Standard & Poor’s Fund Awards 2010.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have won, along with Ralton, the SMA category at the Standard & Poor’s Fund Awards,” said Dalton Nicol Reid chief executive officer, Harley Dalton. “We have been 100% committed to the managed account market for a decade and thus have developed significant expertise versus traditional unitised fund managers.”
Established in 2001 Dalton Nicol Reid specialises in delivering managed accounts for SMA platforms and high net worth investors in addition to investment mandates for institutional investors. Dalton Nicol Reid was one of three finalists in the newly created Separately Managed Account category at Standard & Poor’s annual asset management awards.
The SMA market is one of the fastest growing segments within the Australian financial services market with growth being driven by investors and financial advisers seeking alternatives to managed funds. In a recent report by Investment Trends, it is forecast that by 2014 15 per cent of new investments will be directed toward SMAs up from 3% in 2009.
“Our long-term investment performance is top quartile and we are completely committed across our entire business to delivering excellence in all that we do for clients,” said Mr Dalton. “Currently our portfolios are on most major SMA platforms and we expect another four or five major platforms to come to market over the next 12 to 18 months.”
Dalton Nicol Reid is a Brisbane-based asset-manager delivering client-focused, quality investment solutions to institutions, financial intermediaries and high net worth investors.
