Dalton Nicol Reid’s Australian Equities High Conviction portfolio has been upgraded to 4 stars by Standard & Poor’s. Dalton Nicol Reid, the joint winner of the 2010 S&P SMA Fund Awards was the only SMA investment manager to be upgraded of the 12 managers reviewed.
“We’re delighted to have had our High Conviction portfolio upgraded to 4 stars,” said Harley Dalton, chief executive officer at Dalton Nicol Reid.
“Our High Conviction portfolio has consistently outperformed the market since inception and it is encouraging that S&P have recognised the strength of our investment process. We have been managing money successfully for 10 years and gaining momentum in both the wholesale and institutional markets and this upgrade will further increase investor confidence in our capability.”
Dalton Nicol Reid’s Australian Equities High Conviction portfolio, which is style neutral and holds between 15 and 25 shares, has outperformed the market by 6.35 per cent over 3 years to 31 July 2011.
Standard & Poor’s Fund Services analyst Rodney Lay said: “Since our inaugural SMA sector review in 2010, the SMA sector has continued to grow, specifically by funds inflow, number of managers, the variation of investment strategies, and platform availability.”
“I believe we will see significant growth in the managed account sector in the next 5 years as investors and their advisers become aware of the undeniable benefits of having ownership of the underlying assets” said Dalton.
