Tom Glynn

Head of Wholesale Distribution

Tom has over 14 years of experience in the funds management industry and joined DNR Capital in 2009. He is responsible for managing the sales, marketing and client service functions for DNR Capital’s wholesale relationships.
Tom has extensive experience in the Australian financial services industry having worked in asset management, superannuation and financial planning.

Prior to joining DNR Capital, Tom was a Portfolio Analyst with MAP Funds Management, contributing to the investment team by conducting manager research and analysis and assisting with portfolio risk analytics.
Tom has completed a Bachelor of Business, Masters of Applied Finance, Advanced Management Program and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Rob Coates

Regional Manager – NSW, QLD and ACT

Rob has six years of experience in the funds management industry joining DNR Capital in 2019. He is the Regional Distribution Manager for the Northern Region, looking after New South Wales, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory.
Prior to DNR Capital, Rob was a Business Development Manager at Pengana Capital distributing a wide range of investment strategies across multiple asset classes in NSW and QLD. He was also an Investment Consultant at Colonial First State assisting clients with investment, superannuation and pension solutions.
Rob has a Bachelor in Commerce – Marketing, and Masters in Finance from Macquarie University.

Nick Argyriou

Regional Manager – VIC, SA and WA

Nick has over 25 years of experience in the funds management industry and joined DNR Capital in 2016 as a Regional Manager for the southern region. He is responsible for managing client investment relationships in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
Prior to joining DNR Capital Nick was a Senior Manager with BT Financial Group. He has previously held senior management positions with some of Australia’s leading financial services companies including NAB and MLC, where he managed business development teams distributing a wide range of investment strategies and asset classes.
Nick has completed a Diploma of Financial Planning, and a Diploma in Programming Technology.

Justine Hickey

Chair, Non-Executive Director and Investment Committee Member

Justine has been involved with DNR Capital since 2005 and has been a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Board since 2013. She sits on the Audit, Risk & Compliance, Investment and Socially Responsible Investment Committees.

Formerly a senior executive in funds management, Justine has approximately 30 years’ experience in the investment industry. She is a professional non-executive director and currently sits on the Board of Equip Super and was previously a director of the Rio Tinto Staff Super Fund. Former directorships also include Hastings Infrastructure, GPT Metropolitan Office Fund Ltd and Australian Ethical Investment Ltd. Justine takes an active interest in the Not for Profit Sector and is Chair of RSPCA QLD.

She has a BCom (UQ) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of FinSIA, a Trustee Fellow of ASFA and an Associate of CFA Institute.

Jamie Nicol

Director & Chief Investment Officer

Jamie has over 28 years’ experience in the funds management industry and is one of the founding partners of DNR Capital. He is the Chief Investment Officer and has responsibility for portfolio management and investment strategy, financials (ex-property), building materials, Fund Managers and industrials sectors.

Prior to establishing DNR Capital, Jamie held senior roles in company research and analysis for two major stockbroking firms, as well as for Westpac, Mergers and Acquisitions (Australia and South Pacific). He commenced his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand), in the areas of audit and tax.

Jamie has a Bachelor of Business – Accounting (Distinction), a Bachelor of Economics and is a former Fellow of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Robert White

Director, Chief Executive Officer & Head of Distribution

Robert has significant experience spanning more than 25 years in the financial services industry, and in particular funds management, gained through working in the UK, Europe and Australia. He joined DNR Capital in March 2014 and is responsible for driving strategy and business management.

Previously, Robert was Executive Director and Head of Advice at JBWere Private Wealth Management. Prior to that he was Joint Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of fund manager HFA Asset Management.

Robert also spent time at Wilson HTM as National Operations Manager and spent seven years in Europe and the UK at The OM London Exchange and Natwest Markets in trading, business and market place development. 

Robert has a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology.

Scott Bender

Portfolio Manager

Scott has over 25 years experience in the funds management industry and is Portfolio Manager for the Australian Equities High Conviction Portfolio and Fund and the Socially Responsible Portfolio. Scott is also responsible for investment research of the resources, healthcare, gaming, developers and industrials sectors.

Prior to joining DNR Capital in 2002, Scott worked as an analyst with Deutsche Bank in the UK. Scott has also held roles in Australia as an analyst and trading representative for institutions including JP Morgan and Macquarie. Scott has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, and is a CFA charter holder.

Scott Kelly

Portfolio Manager

Scott joined DNR Capital in August 2015 and is Portfolio Manager for the DNR Capital Australian Equities Income Portfolio and Fund. He is also responsible for the investment research of the telecommunications, media, infrastructure and utilities, and industrials sectors.

Scott has over 21 years of investment experience, with previously held positions in equity research at Morgan Stanley and UBS in Sydney and at Macquarie Bank in Hong Kong. He was a highly ranked analyst across the more technical sectors of transport, infrastructure and utilities and head of Industrials research at Morgan Stanley. He commenced his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly PriceWaterhouse), in audit.

Scott has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Queensland and is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand, a CFA charter holder and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Sam Twidale

Portfolio Manager

Sam joined DNR Capital in September 2017 and is Portfolio Manager for the DNR Capital Australian Emerging Companies Fund.

Sam has over 18 years of investment experience, having previously worked as a European portfolio manager at Schroders in London for over seven years. Prior to this he worked at Citigroup in London as an equity research analyst covering the resources sector. He commenced his career in the advisory division of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Brisbane.

Sam has a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Queensland University of Technology, and is a CFA charter holder.

Mark Sedawie

Portfolio Manager

Mark is Portfolio Manager for the Australian Equities Emerging Companies Fund, bringing over 15 years’ experience in the financial markets.

Mark joined DNR Capital in 2008. Prior to joining DNR Capital, Mark was a senior consultant with the advisory division of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Brisbane.
Mark has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Finance (majoring in Accounting) from Bond University and is a CFA charter holder.

Ben Clayton

Dealer

Ben has over 22 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Ben is responsible for dealing at DNR Capital.

Prior to joining DNR Capital, Ben worked as an analyst in the UK with leading stockbroking and investment management firm, Charles Stanley. He began his career at Ord Minnett, where he worked as a research analyst.

Ben has a Bachelor of Economics.

Chris Tynan

Investment Analyst

Chris joined DNR Capital in October 2018 and is responsible for investment research of the consumer, retail and technology sectors, with over 12 years’ experience in the funds management industry.

Prior to joining DNR Capital, Chris worked for Arnhem Investment Management where he covered the consumer, information technology, gaming and emerging company sectors, following earlier roles as a data/quantitative analyst and dealer. Chris commenced his career in the information technology industry, holding various roles as a software engineer and systems analyst with Colonial First State and Capgemini.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from The University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance & Investments from FINSIA, and has passed the Level 1 CFA examination.

Natasha McKean

ESG Investment Analyst

Natasha joined DNR Capital in 2021. She is a dedicated ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Investment Analyst across all of the DNR Capital Australian equity investment strategies, working directly with Portfolio Managers and Analysts throughout the investment process.

Natasha has over 19 years of investment experience, with previously held positions at Maple-Brown Abbott and JPMorgan, including roles in ESG, Equity Strategy, Portfolio Management and M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions).

Natasha has a Bachelor of Mining Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and is a CFA charter holder.

Tim Bingham

Analyst

Tim joined DNR Capital in 2018. He is an analyst with primary coverage of the property, platforms and energy sectors, and secondary coverage of the diversified financials sector. 

Tim started his career in corporate finance with G. James Australia, before moving in to funds management and investment analysis roles, providing both qualitative and quantitative research. Prior to joining DNR Capital, Tim worked as an analyst for PHAROS Financial Group. 

Tim has a Master of Applied Finance and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland. Tim is a CFA Charterholder.

Lachlan Mayne

Associate Analyst

Lachlan joined DNR Capital in 2017, on a part-time basis. Upon completion of his studies, Lachlan became full-time in 2019. He is responsible for the development and maintenance of quantitative models. His role also involves performance attribution analysis, data analytics and modelling. Lachlan is also responsible for emerging companies dealing.

Lachlan has a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Economics from the University of Queensland.

Tom Covino

ESG Investment Analyst

Tom joined DNR Capital in 2022 after a career transition. Tom joined the investment team as an ESG Investment Analyst, supporting Natasha in the delivery of DNR Capital’s ESG strategy. In addition to ESG research, Tom is responsible for the investment quant and data analytics. Before joining DNR Capital, Tom managed and traded his own personal portfolio for over 6 years, where he developed his passion for financial markets.

Tom has a Bachelor and Master’s of Music.

Mark Hancock

Consultant & Investment Committee Member

Mark has over 34 years’ experience in the securities and funds management industry. As Managing Director of Precept Investment Actuaries Pty Ltd, he sits on the DNR Capital investment committee, with specific expertise in banking, insurance and financial services sectors. His previous experience includes eight years as principal consultant with Loftus Capital Partners Limited and five years with NRMA as an investment manager.

Mark is a qualified actuary and has been a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia since 1987. He has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Actuarial Studies. Mark is a guest lecturer in Applied Finance at Macquarie University.
